When placing your next order with Pickle Print & Marketing, begin your design process with one of our application-specific design templates . These templates are files that include predefined guidelines indicating bleed, trim, and safety specifications. We currently have Microsoft Publisher templates available as well as .jpeg and .eps templates which can be used in other design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, etc. Using one of our templates will save you significant set-up and preparation as well as facilitate more efficient processing of your order.
File Size
All files need to be built to the final trim size plus bleed. So your file should be 1/8” larger than the product size that you are purchasing. (i.e.: 4x6 postcard - 4.125x6.125 graphic file. When generating the file into the proper format, do not use any crop or printer’s marks.
Fonts/Text
If working with vector based software such as Adobe Illustrator, or InDesign, all text must be converted to outlines before generating the final PDF file. If working with Adobe Photoshop, simply flatten the image. Please try not to use a font smaller than 7pt.
Resolution
We recommend that all images used are at least 300dpi for maximum quality. Submitting files with a resolution higher than 300dpi is not necessary but is acceptable.
Color
We require that all submitted files be saved in CMYK to ensure color accuracy as all RGB files will be converted to CMYK.
Safety Zone
Do not place any critical images or text beyond the safety zone (which is at least 1/16” from the final trim size) to avoid getting cut off when the finished piece is trimmed.
